Diabetes Family Weekend:
Staff

All staff is selected using the highest standards in the industry. The staff receives extensive training in both child development and diabetes care, and work in teams to better serve the children. Many of the staff have advanced degrees in early childhood development, or education, and all staff are trained in diabetes care for small children with diabetes.

Our staff, many of whom have diabetes themselves, serve as role models for the children, demonstrating that it is possible to grow up with diabetes, and to succeed despite the challenge of diabetes.

Part of our quality is made possible by an unusually high staff-to-child ratio. We have nearly as many staff members at the retreat weekend as children. Each staff member is responsible for only three or four children.
